Today is day one, the first page of a 365 page book 📖 that is a year. This year it's called 2024 and I'm sure we have all had that thought of , oh my I wonder what this year will be like. Many of you may hate New Year's Resolutions for yourself or with family and friends. Something that you want to accomplish or perhaps change, a challenge to be healthier or overcome an obstacle, to push yourself through an obstacle and towards a challenging goal. For now let's just take a moment and breathe, and simply be grateful that your heart has a beat. You're living, and breathing which means that whatever 2023 was like for you the fact that you have a pulse means that you survived and made it to this very moment you are in now. So pat yourself on the back and tell yourself a positive message for making it to this very day. If you are big on setting goals and have a New Year's Resolution then all the power to you and also best of luck (🤞 fingers crossed for you ) but of course you know that my thought process is there's G2B a better way and the better way for me is simply so simple, I didn't make a resolution I don't have a huge goal I feel I want to achieve or accomplish this year, well nothing exact or specific. That doesn't mean I don't want happiness or personal growth but I don't feel that needs to be set as a major goal as I want that regardless if it's a beginning of a new year or not. I want to challenge myself but I don't need to set it as my main goal. Why put all that pressure on yourself when we already live in a society that has put so much pressure on ourselves as it is. Do we really need to jump on that ride and add more pressure or stress. What if we just get off at the next stop and say to ourselves that this is my life and I'm living it not you, not everyone but ME. Kindly think about this and make sure that if you have a New Year's Resolution that it at least isn't adding any more pressure on yourself. Everyday being open to change and growth, maneuvering through obstacles, getting back up after feeling like you have just fallen down is all apart of life, of living and if you have already done that then 2024 is already heading in the right direction for you. Here's a suggested resolution if you need something to start with, simply have a different approach to life. Keep it simple, have a conversation with yourself and think that Less is More and then find the value and truth to that thought for yourself . Think , I am not a tree and therefore I am not stuck, then figure out what that means for you, understand aways that what is for you may not work for others and be ok with that. This is page one, simply the first. There are so many other pages. Write your story your way and not through others. Don't let society or social norms influence your story. Have your own narrative and simply use that as a tool for your own personal story. Have fun writing your novel for 2024. Have many chapters and characters. It's doesn't have to be all highs and excitement. You can learn a lot about yourself and others from the low moments as well. And when you have these low points don't forget to add them as well to your story because they are just as important and add just as much value to your novel as all the other great moments you may have this year. Laugh , cry, eat , sleep. Feel emotional. Don't exhaust yourself with meeting the expectations of others and or the expectations of a certain resolution that you may start off really strong and motivated at only later to have it fall to the wayside. Don't set yourself up for failure, set yourself up to succeed. There's G2B a better way is to truly believe that if when you wake up in the morning and your heart beats then you already have won so simple just live that day the best you can. You don't have to have amazing accomplishments to have an amazing life. For me, Less is More and simple is great. We are perfectly imperfect people and that is the best narrative ever to speak to yourself and others. I guess perhaps after writing this I maybe do have some insight and hopes for 2024. Not big massive things but small ones that come from within and none of which is causing me to feel stressed or anxious but taking a different perspective for me and writing this and sharing it with you is fulfilling. Really folks for me my thought process for this year comes from an old movie called Planes, Trains and Automobiles when John Candy said , You wanna hurt me? Go right ahead if it makes you feel any better. I'm an easy target. Yeah, you're right, I talk too much. I also listen too much. I could be a cold-hearted cynic like you... but I don't like to hurt people's feelings. Well, you think what you want about me; I'm not changing. I like... I like me. My wife likes me. My customers like me. 'Cause I'm the real article. What you see is what you get. Thanks for reading and have a wonderful time writing your own story for 2024.
